Pal Power

The Weight-Loss Skill:  Buddying up for greater weight-loss success

The Challenge: It’s tough to fly solo when trying to lose weight. Weight Watchers research confirms: People who attend meetings lose three times more weight than those who try to lose alone. Finding a weight-loss buddy can take that support even further, but it can be challenging to find a good match, or even to know what to look for in a buddy.
The Points Plus Solution: In today’s meeting, we will learn the many benefits of getting support—in particular, the advantages of a weight-loss buddy. We also will explore ways to pick the pals that are right for us.

The Gift of Hindsight

The Weight-Loss Skill:  Learn From Experience for greater weight-loss success

The Challenge:  We tend to repeat our mistakes and continue practicing the habits that hold us back. At the same time, w can get so caught up in what we’re not doing or what we’re doing “wrong” that we forget to look at what we’re doing right.

The Points Plus Solution:  In this meeting, we will practice the Helpful Habit, Learn From Experience.  We’ll look back at our slipups to find opportunities for improvement and also look at our successes, so we know what we’re doing right. After learning to identify what works and what doesn’t, we will use that feedback to help us move toward greater success.

Deprivation is a DON'T!

The Weight-Loss Skill:   Avoid feeling deprived while changing eating habits to lose weight

The Challenge:  We may worry that we won’t be able to eat the foods we love while on the PointsPlus plan. We may also believe that we won’t feel satisfied when sticking to our daily PointsPlus Target. When we feel deprived, we’re less likely to stick to the Program and reach our goal.

The Points Plus Solution: In this meeting, we will learn strategies for avoiding feeling deprived, both physically and mentally, even as we change our eating habits to lose weight. Only when we feel satisfied—in both mind and body—can the weight-loss process be sustainable for the long-term.

Celebrate Success!

How was your last week?  Did you SHAKE IT UP?  How?  Did you try a new food or recipe?  Did you try a new activity?  Nothing new yet? Well...today is a brand new day...why not now?

Summer is inching its way towards us, so let's keep working at losing our own inches!  The pay off is SO worth it!

Remember you can email me at any time...have a great week and I will see you ALL in your next meeting, right?!?

~Kelly

The Weight-Loss Skill: Acknowledging how far you’ve come with the PointsPlus™ program to gain confidence to move forward

The Challenge:  When you’re in the middle of a process, it can feel like a blur. You’re so busy plowing ahead that you’re unlikely to look back and appreciate how far you’ve come.  But recognizing your accomplishments can be a major source of inspiration for you and your fellow members. It can also provide perspective, pointing you toward more of the PointsPlus tools you could be using.

The Points Plus Solution:  In this meeting we will review the tools we learned during the PointsPlus Challenge, which draws to a close this week. The conversation will illustrate to us how our newly formed weight-loss behaviors have helped us begin to be successful and can serve as inspiration going forward. It will also remind us about any PointsPlus tools we’ve been meaning to try.
