Move for Good

The Weight-Loss Skill:   Move more, consistently, by recognizing—and enjoying—the many benefits of exercise

The Challenge:  We often see exercise as a necessary evil. As a result, we may easily  become bored with our routine and find it difficult to stick with it, particularly when the scale doesn’t reflect our efforts. Failing to consider the other benefits of exercise—lowered stress, brighter mood, improved sleep, and greater energy, to name a few—makes it more challenging to start or continue moving more.

The Solution:  In this meeting, we will learn the many desirable benefits of exercise beyond weight loss, which may provide additional motivation to get moving and stay active. We will learn that activity can, among other perks, engage the mind and spirit and even enrich the community—whether we plant a garden for a neighborhood in need or walk to raise funds for a great cause.

Just Say "NO!" to Saying No

The Weight-Loss Skill: Ditching the diet mind-set and avoiding deprivation.

The Challenge: Although Weight Watchers® is not so much a diet as a healthy lifestyle, many of us still associate any kind of weight-loss plan with deprivation--and deprivation isn’t sustainable, because it can lead to frustration and episodes of overeating.

The Solution: In this week's meeting, we will explore how to make informed food choices using the Weight Watchers Momentum™ Plan, which is a weight-loss and healthy-lifestyle program, not a diet. We’ll discuss how to routinely include our favorite foods—or satisfying substitutes for those foods—while staying in control of our eating. We will learn that when we give up giving up, we’re more likely to see success at the scale.

The Power of Filling Foods

The Weight-Loss Skill: Understanding the science behind Filling Foods so you can achieve maximum satisfaction.

The Challenge: The scientific concepts behind Filling Foods are not always simple to explain or understand. You may hear the word “macronutrients” and instantly glaze over. It’s up to us here at Weight Watchers to present this information in a way that’s accessible and easy to absorb so that you can use it to eat wisely and enhance your weight-loss success

The Solution: In this week’s meeting, we will explore the power of Filling Foods to help us stay satisfied, including learning the role that macronutrients play in that process. We’ll also learn to identify the Filling Foods that will keep you the most satisfied. Armed with this information, you will be able to eat for maximum satisfaction, which can enhance weight-loss success.

Bending with the Winds of Change

The Weight-Loss Skill: Setting realistic goals that allow for flexibility.

The Challenge: We may have unrealistic expectations of ourselves and the weight-loss process, leading us to set lofty goals that may be impossible to achieve. Then, when we don’t achieve our goals, we tend to procrastinate and get self-critical; we may grow frustrated and eventually give up.

The Solution: In this week’s meeting, we will explore ways to set goals that are flexible and allow room for setbacks. With flexible goals, we are more likely to react to slip-ups by adjusting our behavior rather than by criticizing ourselves and getting frustrated. And by making adjustments to our behavior, we create more opportunities for success.
